Municipal Court Office


The Municipal Court Division hears local ordinance violations including: traffic and parking violations, loitering and curfew violations, battery, noise violations, discharging firearms within city limits, trash and debris violations, weeds and tall grass, furnishing alcohol to minors, unsanitary conditions/public health nuisances, exterior and interior property maintenance violations, etc. They may issue warrants, summons, subpoenas and other court documents. The Municipal Court works in conjunction with the Rock County Circuit Court, Law Enforcement Agencies, the Wisconsin State Department of Motor vehicles, and other various City Departments. They process legal records, provide related information to other courts, Department of Transportation, Police Departments, Tax Refund Intercept Program, and to all other interested parties. They prepare court dockets, monitor and update the status of cases, carry out orders made by the Municipal Judge such as suspending driver’s licenses or commitment, prepare Department of Transportation paperwork, and deal with the payments and receipts of fines and forfeitures. The Municipal Court serves check summons and issues court dates; they also send out and follow up on all commitments.

Parking Ticket, Traffic, & Non-Traffic Payments

The City of Beloit offers several ways for you to pay your parking ticket(s), traffic & non-traffic citations:

ONLINE PAYMENT: You may pay via our website, click pay right now. You will be redirected to the Official Payments Corporation website and will be able to make your payment with your credit card or by E-Check which will deduct the amount paid from your checking account. Official Payments Corporation will assess a convenience fee of $4.95 for using this service. This fee will be in addition to the amount owed for your ticket or citation. There is a $350.00 limit per transaction for using this service and a separate fee is charged for each transaction.

CALLING 1-800-272-9829: By calling this number you will be directed to Official Payments Corporation and will be able to pay your ticket or citation using the same procedures as mentioned above. You must enter jurisdiction code 5981 when prompted.

IN PERSON: With cash, check, money order, Visa, Discover or MasterCard Monday through Friday between the hours of 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM at 100 State Street, Beloit, WI 53511.

MAIL: With check or money order made out to the City of Beloit and mailed to 100 State Street, Beloit, WI 53511.

DROP BOXES: Located in the Police Department lobby or the drop box located in the center island of the circle drive between City Hall and Regal Beloit.  The drive is accessed from the intersection of State Street and St. Paul.
