Welcome to Beloit!
Serving as the Gateway to Wisconsin, the City of Beloit is a diverse community providing a high quality of life for residents and visitors within a dynamic economic environment. Located near the junction of Interstates 90/39 and I-43, Beloit is strategically located for convenient access to much of the upper Midwest and the major metropolitan areas located in this region of the country. The City’s population estimate is 37,110; however, the Greater Beloit trade area is home to 91,000 residents.

Beloit celebrates its proud heritage, diverse culture and entrepreneurial spirit. The City is especially proud of its world class riverfront, providing recreation and special event facilities, biking and hiking paths, and other amenities actively utilized on a year-round basis. The City Center includes a charming downtown with tree lined streets serving pre-20th century commercial buildings, the internationally renowned Beloit College and beautiful, old residential neighborhoods filled with Victorian era housing.

Newer neighborhoods provide modern housing amenities in all price ranges, from entry level to high end, custom built homes. The City’s economy is diverse, with major corporations like Frito-Lay, Hormel Foods, Fairbanks Morse Engine and Kerry Ingredients, to name just a few of the major industries that call Beloit home.

In addition to the City’s quality residential neighborhoods and strong economic environment, the community is blessed with beautiful parks, great schools, clean and safe streets, and caring neighbors. The City strives to provide a high level of municipal services to residents, visitors and business owners in a courteous, efficient and cost effective manner. I hope you enjoy exploring our website and learning more about the “Gem of the Rock River Valley.”
