Winter Weather Emergencies

After a winter weather emergency has been declared, all vehicles must be removed from being parked on city streets during the time the snow emergency is in effect.

Snow Response Levels

The goal of the City of Beloit snow and ice control operation is to provide for the clearing and removal of ice and snow from city streets to assure safe travel throughout the city in a cost effective and environmentally friendly manner.

Sidewalks

To make public sidewalks safe for pedestrians, the owner or occupant of property immediately adjacent to a public sidewalk is responsible for the removal of any snow or ice that accumulates on the sidewalk. Residents are required to clear snow from their sidewalk.

Fire Hydrants

The City of Beloit Fire Department and the Beloit Water Utility ask residents and businesses to help in keeping fire hydrants clear of ice and snow.
