From Seedlings to Compost

Stop by Bushel and Pecks for a pack of open pollinated, heirloom black bean seeds saved from the B&P farm. Pick up a compost planning info sheet while you’re there. While supplies last.
Free Community Sewing Workshop
Date: April 22, 2025
Time: 5-7pm
Location: Beloit Public Library, 605 Eclipse Blvd.
By learning how to mend, participants can extend the life of their clothes, reduce textile waste, and contribute to a more sustainable lifestyle. In addition to hands-on sewing guidance, all attendees will receive a free sewing kit to continue their journey toward a more eco-friendly wardrobe.

Arbor Day Tree Planting

The City of Beloit will plant a special tree in honor of Arbor Day and in celebration of being a Tree City USA community!
Earth Day Celebration & Community Festival
Date: April 26, 2025
Time: 1-2 pm
Location: Beloit Public Library, 605 Eclipse Blvd.
Celebrate Earth Day with stories, games, crafts, and activities to learn how to protect the planet. Special guest Splash, the mascot for Protect Wisconsin Waterways, will make an appearance.

Spring Ephemeral Hike

Location: Welty Environmental Center, 1201 Big Hill Court
Cost: Donations accepted
Explore Big Hill Park’s spring wildflowers with expert guide Dave Bendlin on a scenic 1–2 mile hike. Suitable for all ages.

Location: Downtown Beloit Farmers’ Market
Get up close and personal with Public Works trucks with this mini Touch-a-Truck event at the farmers’ market. Take a tree to plant at home with your family!
