City of Beloit Makes Sandbagging Supplies Available for Residents

The City of Beloit is providing the supplies for residents to make sandbags in case of isolated flooding, especially along the Turtle Creek corridor.

Sand and sandbags are now available at Telfer Park, 2101 Cranston Road, for City of Beloit residents. The sandbag supplies are self-serve; bring your own shovels and muscles to make your sandbags. Please only take what you need.

The sand is a coarse sand and is not appropriate for sandboxes or recreational uses.

A flood warning has been issued for the Turtle Creek in Beloit by the National Weather Service, specifically identifying concerns for homes located along Moccasin Trail, Bootmaker Drive, East Ridge Road, Boulder Lane, Rockfence Lane and Arrowhead Road. The creek is at flood stage and is expected to crest this evening at 10 feet. The flood warning is in effect until late Saturday morning, April 18.
