Beloit Police & Fire Commission Selects Interim Police Chief
The City of Beloit Police & Fire Commission has selected Beloit Assistant Chief Thomas Stigler to be interim police chief following the departure of Police Chief Andre Sayles.
Stigler will officially resume duties as interim chief on June 7. Sayles final day with the City of Beloit is June 6; the City of Beloit wishes him the best as he begins a new career opportunity.
Stigler joined the police department in 2018 after spending 30 years with the Milwaukee Police Department, retiring at the rank of inspector. He has served the Beloit Police Department with pride, including as interim chief between September 2020 to April 2021.
"I’m honored to be named Interim Chief. I’m committed to continuing the strong leadership of Chief Sayles and building on the community-driven policing policies that are already in place. Together, we’ll keep working toward a safer, stronger community."
The Beloit Police & Fire Commission will meet at a later date to determine the next steps in the police chief search process.
