Shopiere Road Safety Improvements Begin This Month

Work to enhance safety and improve traffic flow along Shopiere Road between Cranston Road and Interstate 39/90 is expected to begin this month and be completed before Thanksgiving. This project is being done in coordination with Rock County.

 

The improvements will:

 

• Reconfigure the traffic lanes to one lane in each direction and a center left turn lane.
• Improve traffic flow by reducing conflicts with vehicles turning left and slow speeds.
• Enhance abilities for pedestrians to cross the road.
• Provide space for bicyclists without impeding traffic.
• Add an all-way stop at County Highway BT (Inman Parkway) and County Highway S (Shopiere Road) to improve intersection safety.

 

Short-term road closures will occur during the project while work is actively occurring during daylight hours at various locations. Local access will be maintained at all times, and there is no official detour.
