City of Beloit Invites Public to Share Input on Park Avenue Bike Lanes (UPDATED)

Updated on June 16, 2025, with a new date for the scheduled meeting.

The City of Beloit is planning to add new bike lanes to Park Avenue between Broad Street and Bayliss Avenue. A public meeting will be held to talk about the project and gather input from the community.

The meeting will take place on Wednesday, June 25, from 5 to 6 p.m. at the Beloit Water Resources and Engineering Facility, 2400 Springbrook Court, Beloit, WI. This is a new time and date from the previously scheduled meeting; the date was changed due to the Juneteenth holiday.

The City has received $400,000 in grant funding to support this project. Several design options have been created, and community members are encouraged to attend the meeting to learn about the plans and provide feedback.

The addition of on-street bike lanes takes space and can have the following impacts:

  • Reduction or elimination of on street parking
  • Reduction in the number of driving lanes
  • Reduction in the widths of driving lanes or parking areas

The meeting will begin with a short presentation at 5 p.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. Comment forms will be available for attendees to fill out and return.

If you are not able to attend but have questions or suggestions, please contact City Engineer Scot Prindiville at PrindivilleS@BeloitWI.gov or call (608) 364-6690.

A second meeting will be held by the Traffic Review Committee on Monday, July 7, 2025, at 1:30 p.m. at 2400 Springbrook Court. The committee will review public feedback and make a recommendation to the City Council about changes to on-street parking. The public is welcome to attend and share their thoughts during this meeting as well.
