Street Resurfacing Project Kicks Off Sept. 21
The City of Beloit’s annual street resurfacing project kicks off next week. Nearly 4 miles of road will be resurfaced between September 21 and the end of October. All work is weather dependent and the schedule will vary as crews move from site to site.
The roads will be closed to through traffic during milling and paving operations. No parking signs will be posted a few days before work starts, and be in place for the duration of the work. Residents will have access to their driveways for the majority of the work, but may have short periods of inaccessibility during operations, ranging from an hour for asphalt work to a week for concrete curb installation.
Please use alternate routes when you encounter closed roads. High-traffic areas include Prairie Avenue and Sutler Drive, which will be resurfaced in October. The City of Beloit will share additional information about those schedules closer to the start of the projects.
Residents are reminded to have their trash and recycling bins out before 6am on pickup day as crews will adjust schedules to ensure solid waste is collected before roadwork begins.
