Downtown Beloit Showcases New 2025 Electrical Box Wraps

Six new electrical box wraps have been installed throughout Downtown Beloit, transforming everyday utility boxes into vibrant works of art.

Sponsored by Visit Beloit, the wraps highlight local and regional artists while enhancing the community’s streetscape with positive, engaging public art. The Downtown Beloit Association partnered with the Beloit Art Center to receive and review artist submissions.

“This project is a wonderful way to showcase talented artists while adding beauty and vibrancy to our downtown,” said Shauna El-Amin, Executive Director of Downtown Beloit Association. “Public art has the power to inspire, connect, and brighten our shared spaces, and we’re proud to share that with our community.”

The new installations can be found at key intersections across downtown:

  • Pleasant & Public – Star Flower by Katherine Cook
  • Pleasant & Broad – The Market by Holly Fuca
  • Shirland & State – Beauty Through the Cracks by Valerie Cohs
  • Shirland at Sky Carp – Water Reflections by Kim Witte
  • Shirland at Transit – Colors Uncaged by Jonathan Lent
  • State & St. Paul – Putting Music in the Air by Greg LaMont

The new boxes join ones installed in 2024:

  • State & Grand – Saturday in the Park with Friends by Mark Preuschl
  • Grand & Pleasant – Midnight Lady by Adam Nilson
  • State & Broad East – In Full Bloom by Kelly Witte
  • Broad & Grand – Untitled by Alison Packard
  • State and Broad West – Wild Face by Kelly Hausknect

These designs were selected to reflect the creativity, diversity, and energy of the Beloit community and beyond. An interactive map of the locations can be found here.
