City of Beloit Announces New Polling Locations
December 19, 2023 – Voters in the City of Beloit may be using a different polling location in 2024 and beyond with recent updates made to the city’s polling locations.
The City of Beloit will now operate seven polling locations every election. The city will no longer use elementary schools as polling sites due to safety and security concerns. The Beloit City Council approved the updated locations on Monday, December 18, 2023.
The official polling locations are:
WARD | LOCATION | ADDRESS |
1-4, 24-25, 31 | Sun Valley Presbyterian Church | 1650 Sun Valley Drive |
5-8, 26 | Our Savior's Lutheran Church | 749 Bluff St. |
9-11 | Krueger-Haskell Golf Course | 1611 Hackett St. |
12 | First Congregational Church | 801 Bushnell St. |
13-17 | Beloit Public Library | 605 Eclipse Blvd. |
18-20, 27 | River of Life United Methodist Church | 2345 Prairie Ave. |
21-23, 28-30 | Central Christian Church | 2460 Milwaukee Rd. |
The new polling locations were selected based on geography, access to the bus line, adequate parking, disability accommodations, and the facility’s willingness to participate as a site.
Additionally, the city will no longer need to combine polling locations for smaller primary elections, creating more consistency for voters. The changes will also reduce overall election costs and help streamline absentee ballot counting operations on election day.
The seven polling locations in the City of Beloit are open from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. All polling places are accessible to elderly and disabled voters.
