Rain Barrel Workshop Scheduled for April 25
Update: Registration is now full.
Residents can learn how to conserve water and reduce stormwater runoff by building their own rain barrel at a workshop on Saturday, April 25, 2026.
Rain barrels capture rainwater from rooftops and store it for later use in lawns and gardens. Using collected rainwater helps reduce household water bills, lowers demand for treated tap water, and minimizes stormwater runoff that can contribute to erosion and water pollution. A single 55-gallon rain barrel can save up to 1,300 gallons of water each year.
The City of Beloit is partnering with the Rock River Coalition to host this popular workshop.
During the workshop, participants will receive a brief presentation about protecting local water resources and learn how rain barrels help support healthy watersheds. Each registered household will receive one rain barrel and an installation kit, along with guided instructions for preparing and installing the barrel at home.
