Kevin Day Selected as Council President, Yusuf Adama Selected as Council Vice President

The Beloit City Council selected Kevin Day to serve as council president and Yusuf Adama to serve as council vice president during its annual organization meeting Tuesday night.

Day was first elected to the City Council in 2022 and has served as vice president the last two years. Adama was first elected to the City Council in 2023.

Day, Marty Densch, Kevin Leavy, and Jim White were also sworn into office for their two-year terms after being elected to office on April 7.

Councilors are limited to serve as president for two consecutive terms under a City of Beloit ordinance. Leavy served as president from April 2024-April 2026.

City Councilor Markese Terrell was honored for his service with a plaque Monday night. He chose to not seek re-election to another city council term.
