East Grand Avenue Reconstruction Project Starts March 2

The East Grand Avenue reconstruction project starts downtown on Monday, March 2, 2026, weather dependent. East Grand Avenue will be fully closed to vehicle traffic between State and Pleasant streets throughout the project. The project is planned to be completed in early May, before the first outdoor farmers’ market.

Sidewalks will remain open during the majority of the reconstruction. Access to businesses will be maintained from back entrances or via the sidewalks. There will be minimal closures when active work is occurring on the sidewalks.

The project includes replacement of the roadway, parking, curb and sidewalk, as well as installing bollards to enhance pedestrian safety during downtown events.

The sidewalks are also scheduled to be completed prior to the Downtown Beloit Association’s Spring Wine Walk to ensure a safe event for pedestrians.
