Councilor Terrell Files Non-Candidacy Paperwork

City Councilor Markese Terrell filed his non-candidacy paperwork today and will not pursue a third term on the Beloit City Council.

Four seats are up for election on the Beloit City Council for the 2026-2028 term. The other incumbents are Kevin Day, Marty Densch, and Kevin Leavy. Nomination papers and completed forms to run for office are due by 5pm Tuesday, January 6, 2026.

A minimum of 100 valid signatures of City of Beloit residents must be submitted. Staff recommends that between 100 and 200 signatures be submitted to ensure ballot access. Download the packet on the City of Beloit website.

The spring election is Tuesday, April 7, 2026, with newly elected councilors taking office on Tuesday, April 21, 2026.
