MISSION

The program is dedicated to reducing the incidence of fires; in which children are either the fire setter or the victim, through the development of educational and intervention opportunities aimed at fire safety and prevention.

GOALS

 To present fire safety education and related materials to a juvenile that has set or been a victim of a fire along with other family members in an effort to promote an awareness of the extreme danger that the child, family and their home and belongings can be subjected to when fire becomes a play thing.

 To promote partnerships between the fire service, law enforcement, mental health practitioners, the medical community and the child advocate agencies that may deal with the aftermath of a child set fire.

 To gather and share information that will assist other agencies that have concerns or have had experiences with children setting fires.

 To coordinate and present training opportunities for other organizations that provide intervention services for child fire setters.
