Bicycle Patrol Unit
The Beloit Police Department Bicycle Patrol Unit is an important component of our department's community police strategy, both in terms of proactive enforcement and community engagement activities. Basic functions include active patrol in designated neighborhoods, responding to calls for service in close proximity, active community engagement, and targeted patrol operations in specific geographic areas. Our unit currently consists of six (6) members, all of whom have attended a 40-hour training course presented by the International Police Mountain Bike Association. The unit's first deployment was on July 4, 2018.
