Sherry Blakeley

As a communications professional, Sherry Blakeley brings her skills as a researcher, interviewer, and content organizer to her role as Beloit City Councilor.

Sherry previously worked at Beloit Public Library and continues to write for Midwestern and national media on a variety of topics ranging from volunteerism to local business and international industry. Helping others to learn is high on her priority list. She will continue to teach creative writing to people of all ages. She received a B.A. in English literature and composition from Beloit College, and she and her husband decided to make Beloit their hometown back in the 1970s.

“Now it is my goal to help put Beloit on the map in a positive way,” she said. “Our diverse community offers a variety of recreational and business opportunities for both residents and visitors, along with sources that support Beloiters as they strive to enrich their lives and care for their families. I am happy to give voice to our residents through my work on Beloit City Council.”
