The City of Beloit has two payment options for Real Estate taxes:
Full payment option:
By January 31 –Pay the total amount due on the tax bill
Installment option:
By January 31 – ¼ of tax plus total of any special assessments/charges.
     By March 31 – ¼ of tax
     By May 31 – ¼ of tax
     By July 31 – ¼ of tax
If you choose to pay in installments, please remember that you must meet the required installments  due dates to remain on the plan and avoid penalty.  If any portion of the installment is paid late the installment option is forfeited and the entire balance of the real estate tax bills becomes delinquent and is subject to interest and penalty.

Delinquent taxes are subject to interest and penalties totaling one and one half percent per month computed back to February 1st. (example-a late payment in May is subject to interest and penalties of 6%).

All Personal Property taxes are due in full by January 31 except buildings on leased land which have the four (4) installment option.

If paying by mail, make your check payable to the Rock County Treasurer, 51 S Main Street, Janesville, WI  53545.  Indicate on your payment the parcel number you are paying. If you are paying on multiple parcels, please indicate the amount you are paying on each parcel.  Also include a self addressed stamped envelope if you are requesting a receipt.

In Person

If paying in person we are located on the second floor in the Rock County Court House, 51 S Main Street, Janesville.  The County Treasurer’s office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Due to the recent influx of counterfeit money in the area, the County Treasurer is asking taxpayers to pay by check or money order.  Staff will be examining all currency, which can be quite time consuming.)
