Effective immediately, all EFT (electronic funds transfers) will be processed through our new payment platform.  If you were previously signed up for EFT, your bill would have had a message *DO NOT PAY*.  The message will no longer be displayed on the bills.

Utility Bill Online Payments

The City of Beloit offers online payment portal on our website, allowing you to view, manage and pay your utility bill with no transaction fees.

Automatic Payment /"Autopay" - ENROLL TODAY!

Save time and write fewer checks by having your utility payment automatically deducted from your designated checking or savings account.  There is no charge for this service.  You authorize regularly scheduled payments charged to your bank account on the day the payment is due.  Proof of payment will be on your bank statement and the following month’s utility bill statement.

In Person 

At City Hall in the Clerk-Treasurer’s Office, 100 State Street, Beloit, WI.  You may pay your utility bill by cash, check, credit or debit card.     

By USPS Mail 

You may pay your utility bill by mail using check or money order.  Send your payments to: Beloit Utilities,  100 State Street, Beloit, WI 53511

Drop Box 

There are three drop box locations at City Hall (100 State Street):

E-Statements (Go Paperless) - ENROLL TODAY!

The City of Beloit offers Paperless e-Statements to our utility customers. The e-Statement will be  emailed to you at the same time of the month that you would normally receive your paper bill. This option saves on postage, trees and mailing time!

Customer Utility Information 

Act 25 prohibits a municipality utility from releasing Customer Information to any person or persons other than the utility account holder without written permission of the customer.  Beloit Utilities has developed a "Release of Customer Information Authorization" form that must be completed and returned to Beloit Utilities prior to the release of any utility information.

Real Estate and Personal Property tax bills are mailed out to property owners mid-December.

 

Tax Payment Information

Tax bills can be paid in person, by mail, or by using the drop box located directly outside of the Rock County Treasurer’s office located at 51 S Main Street in Janesville, Wisconsin 53545.  They can also be reached by calling (608) 757-5670 between 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

The City of Beloit has two payment options for Real Estate taxes:
Full payment option: 
     By January 31 –Pay the total amount due on the tax bill 

Installment option: 
     By January 31 – ¼ of tax plus total of any special assessments/charges.

     By March 31 – ¼ of tax 
     By May 31 – ¼ of tax 
     By July 31 – ¼ of tax 
If you choose to pay in installments, please remember that you must meet the required installments  due dates to remain on the plan and avoid penalty.  If any portion of the installment is paid late the installment option is forfeited and the entire balance of the real estate tax bills becomes delinquent and is subject to interest and penalty. 

Delinquent taxes are subject to interest and penalties totaling one and one half percent per month computed back to February 1st. (example-a late payment in May is subject to interest and penalties of 6%).   

All Personal Property taxes are due in full by January 31 except buildings on leased land which have the four (4) installment option.

By Mail

If paying by mail, make your check payable to the Rock County Treasurer, 51 S Main Street, Janesville, WI  53545.  Indicate on your payment the parcel number you are paying. If you are paying on multiple parcels, please indicate the amount you are paying on each parcel.  Also include a self addressed stamped envelope if you are requesting a receipt.

In Person

If paying in person we are located on the second floor in the Rock County Court House, 51 S Main Street, Janesville.  The County Treasurer’s office is open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. (Due to the recent influx of counterfeit money in the area, the County Treasurer is asking taxpayers to pay by check or money order.  Staff will be examining all currency, which can be quite time consuming.)
