TIF Housing Projects

The City of Beloit is addressing our community's housing shortage through its Tax Incremental Financing Housing Fund. The City Council previously extended the life of several Tax Incremental Financing (TIF) Districts in order to benefit affordable housing and improve the City’s housing stock by distributing funds via grants, loans, or developer incentives. 

Below is a list of projects and funding approved by the Beloit City Council. 

Acquisition of Property for Western Hills Subdivision: $458,183

Acquisition of Tax Foreclosure Lots: $415,113

Affordable Rental Unit Creation/Preservation Incentive: Up to $6,000,000

Downtown Upper Floor Housing Grants: $363,010

Housing Rehab/Curb Appeal Loans and Grants: $985,000

Lift Station for Eagles Ridge Subdivision: $1,000,000

New Subdivision Incentive: $1,000,000
